Director Ridley Scott steps back into sci-fi territory with this tale that takes its cues from the Alien films -- which it was originally supposed to tie in to before growing into its own mythology during pre-production. The story concerns a team of space explorers who embark on a fantastic voyage to the edge of the universe after making a profound discovery that hints at the true origins of the human race.
