For a long time it has remained quiet when it comes to new releases by the Climax blues band. The current line-up, which after numerous line-up changes, no longer has a founding member, finally gives a musical sign of life with new songs with “Hands Of Time” and continues the band"s 50-year history. In doing so, the band reflects on the instrumental structure that has already been tried and tested in the past and its own groove. The charismatic fronter Graham Dee captivates the listener with his haunting, slightly scratchy, but very clear voice on the songs. The pieces mostly have clear rhythm structures, which range from blues to rock, sometimes with soulful influences, mostly in mid-tempo. Also interspersed are some ballads that can make the listener dream and once again prove the expressiveness of Dee"s voice. ith “Hands Of Time” the band has definitely put on an impressive, varied album without any musical gaps, which shows the musical strength of the band and proves that they really want to get started again. The purchase of the new work will certainly shorten the waiting time for an upcoming tour for fans and probably even increase the longing for it.
