Visually impressive real film adaptation of the famous story of the jungle child Mowgli and his duel with Tiger Shir Khan.
The new hit from "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau is the third major real-life adaptation of Rudyard Kipling"s original after 1942 and 1994. Disney"s animation classics are mainly remembered in musical quotes, but Favreau"s adventure realized with digital magic in animal figures, action and locations is much more threatening than its predecessor and visually amazing in every respect. The only thing that remains a mystery is why this three-dimensional exhibition is not presented in Cinemascope.
When Tiger Shir Khan learns that the wolves have raised a human boy, he threatens all animals if Mowgli is not handed over to him. To protect friends and family, Mowgli leaves his familiar surroundings and moves through the jungle to return to the people. Dangerous and amusing encounters with Python Kaa and the pleasure bear Balu make his trip a real adventure. But Mowgli realizes that he cannot flee from his greatest test, but has to face it: Shir Khan.
