Louise grows up in France, Johann in West Germany. They meet at a French university, get married, move to a German village, watch their children grow up and their parents die. They spend their whole lives looking for the right words for a time that nobody ever wanted to talk about.
"Schnell, dein Leben" is the discovery of an author who came to Germany more than fifty years ago and had to wait just as many years to be able to write exactly this novel - a story of liberation, a new look at post-war Germany, a book of life.
Sylvie Schenk was born in Chambéry, France, in 1944, studied in Lyon and has lived in Germany since 1966. Sylvie Schenk has published poetry in French and has been writing in German since 1992. She lives near Aachen and in La Roche de Rame, Hautes Alpes. "Schnell, dein Leben" is her first novel published by Carl Hanser Verlag.
Sophie Rois has been a member of the ensemble at the Volksbühne Berlin since 1993 and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin since 2018. She has received numerous awards, including the German Audio Book Prize in the Best Interpretation category in 2006 and 2016.
